Moving Museum 2021: Conversations on Heldenplatz Square
May 20–July 2, 2021
Welcome to Heldenplatz square! The exhibition After the Great War is on display here throughout early summer. It explores the First World War from a European perspective and examines its aftereffects up to the present day. The exhibition also raises questions about what societies choose to remember and how the past shapes the present.
The education team from the House of Austrian History will be on hand out on the square at regular intervals during the exhibition. As well as giving short tours of the exhibition, they are available for questions and discussion. As a site rich in history, Heldenplatz square itself comes under investigation: what exactly took place here in 1918—and what does the square still stand for today?
The education team and the “Moving Museum” are ready for you on Heldenplatz square! Short tours of the exhibition After the Great War are also on offer on a regular basis.
The safety procedures for tours listed here also apply in outdoor public spaces (incl. proof of testing, recovery, or vaccination—the “3G rules”—and mandatory registration). However, you don’t need to go into the museum to join a tour—come to us direct on Heldenplatz square!
